Coming up with my next home decor piece is what I enjoy most. I often get asked my thought process for coming up with my personal designs. I like to start with asking ‘What decor style does this fall under?’ Next, I let the colors and design fall into place. The February Chalk Couture just felt a bit whimsical and boho style to me. I could see the motivational message perfect for a boho chic workspace or baby girls nursery room. Where can you see it?
That took me on a search for the perfect color for a boho chic and / or baby nursery. I wanted something soft with an elegant look. My search brought me to the HGTV Home 2020 color of the year Sherwin Williams SW6323 Romance. It certainly piqued my interest. It’s a blush pink color with slight apricot influence. Perfect!!!! I think adding an additional color would give it more character. Which leads me on a hunt for a gray color. I knew a gray color would offset it well so I chose the HGTV home 2021 home color SW6255 Morning Fog which is a medium toned gray color with crisp, cool undertones.
I called my color choices into my local Sherwin Williams to order my paint samples. With a discount it came out to be about $6 for each color. Make sure to sign up for the Sherwin Williams newsletter to get the latest discount. I’m not affiliated with them in any way. I always like to save a couple of bucks and thought I would share my ‘trade’ secret.
