Fair warning, I do not claim to be an expert with resolving anxiety. I’m just sharing some ways that really help me get through the day. Some are more beneficial than others so pick and choose what works best for your lifestyle and/or day.
We get so caught up in our everyday lives it’s easy to get stressed fairly quickly or maybe we just went through a major change in our daily lives. Stress can easily lead to behavior changes and anxiety. Anxiety can stop us from moving forward in everyday simple tasks. It can be hard to make simple choices for ourselves and family. Taking a few minutes out of our day to help focus our mind can be beneficial to help us get through the week without losing ourselves in the mix. Here are a few of my ‘go-to’ methods to help calm my anxiety.

My first suggestion is probably the simplest of them all. Drink OJ!! That’s right!! Take a break and drink some orange juice or eat a nice juicy orange. This helps calm down the nervous system and puts you more at ease. It’s a simple fix.
Essential Oils would be my second recommendation. They’re easy to use and have so many benefits. My favorite for anxiety would be Wild Orange essential oil. It can be diffused, or simply inhale the aroma directly to help with anxiety. Learn more about the different uses.
My third suggestion is a fun one!! This one might take you out of your comfort zone. Remember, it’s okay to let yourself have some fun and be a kid every once in a while. Crafting Therapy is a great way to relax and create something unique. As you may already know, I’m a lover of anything chalk based when it comes to my diy crafts. I would recommend getting started with a Chalk Couture starter kits. They’re an easy, fun and quick way to add some personality to your environment. Bonus: you may actually feel a sense of accomplishment by finishing a project from start to finish. When I’m crafting, I’m just more at ease and can tell my day goes much better. Give it try and let me know what you think!
My fourth suggestion may come as a surprise. It’s PUZZLES!! Okay, that might seem like more of a challenge than you’re actually up for. However, It helps the mind focus! Sometimes that’s all you need is just a small break from the world. Maybe a better option would be puzzle books so you have something when you travel. Anxiety doesn’t always hit you at home. Am I right?

My final suggestion is meditation. I’m not one for ‘professional’ meditation. Don’t get me wrong, certainly taking the time to learn how to meditate properly will provide great benefits. Let’s face it, I’m just lazy and want my mediation time to be comfortable and be free of rules. Basically, my ‘mediation’ consists of me listening to calming music while I lay down and let my nerves calm down. Maybe release some built up anger before I release it on the wrong person. Can you relate? I just choose some mediation music from youtube to enjoy while I rest and let the world go for just a bit.
As much as I love taking care of my health the natural way. Following your Doctor’s instructions is always the best option and one I recommend.
