Buffalo Plaid Wall Art Supplies
In the How-To video, I used the following supplies
- Chalk Couture
- Dollar Tree
- Craft ribbon of your choice. I used 3 different patterns.
- Drop Cloths – My favorite place to get my drop cloths is at the local Harbor Freight. It’s the perfect color for crafting and is normally on sale.
Step 1. Choose Your Buffalo Plaid Colors
The first step in painting buffalo plaid is to choose your colors. Plaid typically consists of two to three colors, with one color dominating the pattern. Choose colors that complement each other and fit the overall look you’re going for.
Step 2: Prep Your Surface
Before you begin chalking, make sure your surface is clean and free of any debris. I cut my painter’s drop cloth to the size of the canvas and hot glued it on the back. Next, cut another piece of drop cloth to the size of your fall stencil design.
Step 3: Create Using Chalk Couture Buffalo Plaid Stencil
Put a towel behind the Dollor Tree canvas to support it and keep it from sagging while working on your project. Put the Chalk Couture buffalo plaid stencil on top of the canvas. Smooth the transfer / stencil out with your hands to make sure there are no air bubbles. Apply Chalk Couture tide chalk paste over the buffalo plaid stencil and remove once you have it covered in paste.
Step 4: Create the Wall Art Design
Take the smaller piece of painter’s drop cloth and put the fall design transfer / stencil on top. Smooth it out with your hands to ensure there are no bubbles. Use a squeegee to add the Chalk Couture black chalk paste to the project. Once it dries attach it to the top of the buffalo plaid decor canvas with hot glue.
Step 5: Embellish The Project
Now, it’s time to add personality to your buffalo plaid decor project and add ribbon, buttons, flowers, etc to make the project special to you. Chalk Couture helped do the hard work! They leave the fun part to you!!
Step 6: Hang Your Buffalo Plaid Wall Art
Enjoy your project for years to come!!
